Ireland could officially enter the race to host a future WrestleMania, as WWE continues taking its biggest events beyond the United States.
According to WrestleTalk, Kilkenny councillor Maurice Shortall plans to bring a proposal to the Irish government for the country to submit a bid for WWE’s biggest annual event.
Shortall believes WrestleMania would deliver a major boost in tourism and media attention for Ireland, reaching beyond Dublin into nearby areas such as Kilkenny because of the expected wave of international visitors.
Dublin’s Croke Park would be the most likely venue for a potential bid. The stadium has hosted major sporting and cultural events, and on September 28, 2025, it staged the NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings.
The idea also has public support from Sheamus. Speaking recently with OTB Football, the Irish WWE star said his dream is to wrestle at WrestleMania in Croke Park, adding that WWE has enough Irish names to justify the show and that the stadium would sell out “ten times over”.
Along with Sheamus, WWE currently features Becky Lynch, Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh, and Lyra Valkyria among the top Irish representatives on its roster.
It is worth noting that WrestleMania 43 is already confirmed for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027, marking the first edition of the event outside North America.
