Joe Hendry has revealed that WWE changed its plans for his permanent move to the main roster. The former NXT Champion was originally supposed to appear on the April 20 episode of RAW, the night after WrestleMania 42, but his debut as a full-time member of the Raw roster was pushed back by a week.
Instead, WWE used that night only to announce that Hendry would perform a live concert on the following week’s show. His move to RAW was also made official around the same time.
In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Hendry said he had already put together material for the originally planned debut.
“I was supposed to debut the night after WrestleMania, and the song I had was the same song.”
The song Hendry had prepared was built around a chorus about his move to RAW.
“RAW, RAW, Joe Hendry signed to RAW.”
After the plans changed and Hendry learned he would be working with The Vision, he rewrote the lyrics entirely and aimed his jabs at Logan Paul. The result was the song Fire Logan Paul.
Hendry’s concert finally took place on the April 27 episode of RAW at Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas. The Vision interrupted the performance, immediately advancing the new storyline WWE had planned.
The Fire Logan Paul track was later included on Hendry’s album Beyond Belief, which is set for release on October 5. Hendry also made it clear that he is still interested in resuming his feud with Paul once Paul returns from injury.
