The long-running feud between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria could be nearing its end, with WWE planning a match for the pair that would be considered rare for the women’s division.
As of last week, the creative team had an idea to put the two in a match with a stipulation regarded as rare, according to WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select. The match would be framed as the definitive conclusion to their storyline, the report adds.
WrestleVotes shared further details on the idea.
“As of last week, there was a creative idea for Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to meet in a blowoff stipulation match that would be considered ‘rare’ for the women’s division, a source told WrestleVotes Radio of FightfulSelect.com.”
“WrestleVotes was also told the idea is being positioned as the culmination of their ongoing program.”
“The same source says that the stipulation would not be a Hell In A Cell match.”
Hell in a Cell has been ruled out, but there has been no confirmation of which stipulation was discussed or when the match could take place.
The feud began on the June 22 episode of Raw, when Valkyria attacked Bayley after the two lost a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match to Paige and Brie Bella. Less than a month later, Valkyria defeated Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.
Bayley was out of action for several weeks before returning on the September 7 Raw, where she cost Valkyria a spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The two met again on September 21, and Valkyria picked up another win.
Most recently, Bayley interfered once more on the September 28 episode of Raw, distracting Valkyria during her match against IYO SKY.
