Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley are officially in line for a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The title match against Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid was confirmed on tonight’s SmackDown in Denver.
The title shot comes as little surprise. On the September 4 episode of SmackDown, Flair and Paxley beat the champions in a non-title match, and Paxley scored the pinfall by hitting Reid with the Cemetery Drive.
The win put the pair in the title picture that same week. Paxley has continued to appear alongside Flair and Alexa Bliss since then. She made her official SmackDown debut in August, when she helped Flair against Jade Cargill.

Paxley also opened tonight’s show in a Triple Threat Match against Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae, with a spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on the line. Stratton picked up the win by pinning LeRae after the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Henley and Reid have held the titles since July 18, when they beat Paige and Brie Bella at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Madison Square Garden after interference from Jacy Jayne.
WWE has yet to announce a date for the title defense against Flair and Paxley, however.
