Add as a preferred source on Google Zelina Vega is officially moving into a new chapter of her career. On Thursday, July 23, Thea Trinidad posted a six-minute video titled “A New Era,” closing the book on the name she used in WWE and introducing “Xelina” as her new identity in professional wrestling.
The video revisits key moments from her life, starting with her childhood, the influence Rey Mysterio had on her, and the death of her father in the 9/11 attacks. From there, different versions of Vega appear, representing chapters from her two stints with WWE.
Andrade El Idolo, now with AEW, makes a cameo appearance, a reference to the partnership the two began in NXT. With Vega as his manager, Andrade won the NXT Championship by defeating Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in 2017. Aleister Black, Trinidad’s husband, also appears in the video.
Other moments featured include her 2021 Queen’s Crown Tournament win, her match at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, and her reign with the WWE Women’s United States Championship. The video closes with Trinidad walking through a new door as the message “Coming Soon” appears.

Trinidad had filed to register the “Xelina” trademark on July 20. The application covers wrestling performances, news production, digital content, and videos related to sports entertainment. The filing, however, does not represent final approval — the trademark still needs to go through the USPTO’s review process.
The video arrived on the very day the 90-day period following her departure from WWE came to an end. Her last match with the company was taped on April 10, a loss to Jordynne Grace on WWE Main Event.
Despite Andrade’s appearance, no deal with AEW has been announced. For now, “A New Era” only confirms that Xelina is ready to return to the ring with a new identity.
