AEW appears set to continue viewing Australia as an important market in its international plans, even though the company has not announced a new date in the country following this year’s Grand Slam.
In a recent interview with Wide World of Sports, Tony Khan said he “absolutely” wants to return to Australia. The AEW president pointed to the company’s experiences in Sydney and Brisbane, along with the strength of the Australian talent on the roster, as reasons to keep that door open.
“I absolutely want to come back to Australia. We had amazing events with the fans in Sydney and Brisbane. I think we’ve built a great audience, our wrestlers are very popular, and some of AEW’s top stars are from Australia. Because it’s a great wrestling country and because we have so many names from there, I think we’ve got something really special.”
The comments come after AEW spent two straight years in the Australian market. In 2025, the company made its debut in the country with Grand Slam: Australia in Brisbane. In February of this year, the special was held at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

That show featured MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Brody King, Kyle Fletcher competing in a Ladder Match for the TNT Championship, and Toni Storm once again performing in front of the Australian crowd.
AEW also held a House Rules event in Brisbane the following day, further showing its attempt to turn the tour into something bigger than just a single TV special.
For now, however, the company has yet to confirm when its next event in Australia will take place.
