12:34 AM · Aug 23, 2026The rivalry started when Perry said he needed to face AEW’s biggest names to prove he belongs at the top of the company. By calling out former world champions like Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, and “Hangman” Adam Page, Perry put himself on Strickland’s radar.
Strickland acknowledged Perry’s potential but made it clear that Perry isn’t ready to step in the ring with AEW’s top-level talent.
