Gabe Kidd is back in AEW. The reigning IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion made a surprise appearance on Wednesday’s Dynamite, reuniting the full lineup of The Dogs alongside David Finlay and Clark Connors.
The return came right after Jon Moxley defeated Jay White in the Continental Challenge Cup quarterfinals. Finlay and Connors jumped White after the match, bringing out Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly. Kidd then hit the ring unannounced, joining the brawl.
Roderick Strong also ran in to try to even the odds before AEW World Trios Champions “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido made their way out.
The segment ended with multiple groups surrounding the champions, with Page announcing an AEW World Trios Championship match at All In on August 30 at Wembley Stadium.
Kidd hadn’t appeared on AEW television in person since Dynasty on April 12, when he injured his shoulder during The Dogs’ loss to The Conglomeration for the AEW World Trios Championship.
Even after recovering physically, Kidd remained off AEW programming. In June, Khan confirmed that the Brit was going through the work visa renewal process, an issue that also affected AEW’s plans for Forbidden Door.
