Representatives from TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of both WWE and UFC, were spotted at a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, naturally drawing attention given the competition between WWE and AEW.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that the visit took place at the August 12 episode, held at the Pearl Theater at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“There were TKO reps at Dynamite last week.”
Asked what brought TKO representatives to an AEW show, Alvarez indicated there was nothing bigger behind the visit and added that they weren’t even given complimentary tickets.
“I think just checking it out. They weren’t comped, obviously.”
That night’s Dynamite aired live on TBS and HBO Max as usual. The card featured Jon Moxley taking on Jack Perry for the Continental Challenge Cup, Kevin Knight defending the AEW TNT Championship against Chris Jericho, and MJF, Mike Bailey, and Nick Wayne competing for positioning in the Casino Gauntlet at All In.
Despite the curiosity surrounding TKO’s presence, Alvarez did not report any meeting with Tony Khan, negotiations between the two companies, or specific interest in any AEW talent.
