AEW has announced a major title match for the next episode of Collision, with Hikaru Shida putting the TBS Championship on the line against Queen Aminata.
The confirmation came during Wednesday’s Dynamite broadcast from MGM Music Hall in Boston, Massachusetts. Collision will be taped Thursday at the same venue and is set to air Saturday, July 18, on TNT and HBO Max in the United States.
The rivalry took another step forward this past Saturday, when Shida made the first defense of her title against Harley Cameron and won by submission. She kept up the attack after the bell, and Aminata ran out to make the save.
Shida won the TBS Championship on July 1 on AEW Dynamite, defeating Maika, Harley Cameron, Persephone, Kris Statlander, and Aminata herself in a Survival of the Fittest match for the vacant title.
The match ended with Shida getting the better of Statlander after interference from Persephone. It marked the Japanese star’s first reign with the title.
Aminata, meanwhile, will get another shot at the belt after being defeated by Willow Nightingale in April — her first match back following a five-month absence due to a neck injury.
