Adam Copeland will officially retire from in-ring competition in AEW in 2027, as he himself revealed on the latest edition of Dynamite, which took place on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Now, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, AEW may be making an effort for Copeland to have one final match at the end of 2027 in Toronto. The exact date or location, however, is still unknown.
Copeland had previously said that his desire was to end his career in his hometown.
“I honestly don’t know (how I want my retirement road to pan out). I have the luxury, I guess, of having one retirement under my belt, and that was a very emotional one… it was an amazing send-off, right? So, this one, I’m not that concerned with how it goes. Would I like for it to be in Toronto? Yeah. I think that would be fitting to try and do it as close as I could to the place that I started it which is Monarch Park. I think a plane crashed there the other day or something. But, it’d be nice to end it in Toronto. Beyond that, I haven’t put a whole lot of thought into it. That would be my only hope; would be that it’s in Toronto.”
Despite announcing his retirement for next year, Copeland has already made it clear that his pursuit of the AEW World Championship will continue.
