Will Ospreay will make his first Dynamite appearance as AEW World Champion this Wednesday. AEW announced that the new champion will open tonight’s show in Allen, Texas.
Ospreay is coming off the biggest win of his AEW career. Last Sunday at AEW All In: London, he defeated Kenny Omega in the main event at Wembley Stadium to capture the AEW World Championship for the first time.
After a violent match that left both men busted open, Ospreay hit the Hidden Blade on Omega and scored the pinfall.
Ospreay already has a challenger waiting. Andrade El Idolo won the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In, earning a future shot at the AEW World Championship.
Tonight’s card also features Swerve Strickland, Austin Creed, and Kofi defending the AEW World Trios Championship against The Rascalz. Mercedes Moné will hold a celebration after winning the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In.
Wednesday’s Dynamite airs live from the Credit Union of Texas Event Center on TBS and HBO Max.
