Will Ospreay wants to turn the United Empire into an even bigger force in AEW. The new AEW World Champion laid out his plans during the opening segment of Wednesday’s Dynamite in Allen, Texas.
Ospreay captured the AEW World Championship last Sunday at All In: London, defeating Kenny Omega in the main event at Wembley. On Wednesday’s show, he thanked the crowd and pointed out that his series with Omega is now tied 2-2, leaving the door open for a fifth match.
Ospreay also thanked Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, and HENARE for having his back at All In. He then announced that while the United Empire will continue in Japan, he plans to establish a new branch of the faction in AEW.
The announcement quickly drew challengers. Ricochet came out alongside Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona of The Demand and demanded the first shot at the AEW World Championship. Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors followed shortly after, with Kidd making clear his issues with Ospreay are far from finished.
When the five surrounded the ring, Newman, Akira, and HENARE came out with chairs to back up Ospreay.
Ospreay then challenged them to settle things later in the night, setting up a match between United Empire, The Demand, and The Dogs.
