AEW Reportedly in Talks with KAIRI, No Deal Reached

AEW has opened talks with KAIRI about a potential signing, but the two sides have not reached a deal. Fightful Select reported the news on Tuesday, September 8.

According to the report, KAIRI remains a free agent as negotiations continue. AEW isn’t the only company interested, as other promotions have also expressed interest in the former WWE star since she hit free agency.

KAIRI’s most recent match was on the April 20 episode of RAW, where she and Asuka were defeated by Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Four days later, on April 24, she was released as part of a larger wave of cuts.

KAIRI officially became a free agent on July 23, after her 90-day non-compete expired following her departure from WWE. Shortly after, she listed Barry Bloom as her representative.

Bloom represents several prominent AEW names, including Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay and The Young Bucks. The professional connection, however, was never treated as confirmation that KAIRI would sign with AEW.

On July 27, Fightful Select had reported that KAIRI received interest from multiple companies and remained unsigned. In late August, Sean Ross Sapp reiterated that she still had not signed with any promotion.
