Jeff Hardy Says a Will Ospreay Match Changed His Mind About Staying in AEW

Jeff Hardy considered staying in AEW for another year before a Will Ospreay match changed his mind.

Speaking on the I Love Wrestling Podcast in February, Hardy looked back on the end of his AEW deal and the decision he had to make about the next step in his career.

Hardy said part of him wondered about taking the AEW deal and staying a year to “build myself up into this amazing superhero wrestler” and see how things went. Then he saw Ospreay wrestle. That’s when he decided he needed to go back to TNA.

Hardy said the point of going to TNA was to team with Matt Hardy again, get the Hardys going as a team once more and help the company grow. In the end, he said, everything worked out the way it was supposed to.

Hardy’s AEW contract expired on June 14, 2024. He returned to TNA that same night at Against All Odds, coming out after the main event to help Matt Hardy, Joe Hendry and brothers Nic and Ryan Nemeth against The System.

Matt had returned to TNA two months earlier at Rebellion, after his own AEW run ended.
