AJ Lee’s return to WWE will be shown in detail on a future season of WWE Unreal, the Netflix documentary series that follows the company’s backstage environment and creative process.

During an appearance on State of Mind, the current WWE star confirmed that she has been followed by the production’s cameras, pointing to her various appearances on RAW on Netflix.

“We have a Netflix show, but I don’t know what it is because I don’t have my notes. I spent the last eight months on Raw on Netflix. I’m going to be doing Unreal, the documentary series for WWE, also on Netflix.”

AJ’s return happened in September 2025, when she appeared to make the save for CM Punk against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, ending a ten-year absence from WWE.

A few days later on RAW, AJ and Punk challenged Lynch and Rollins to a mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza. The bout marked AJ’s first WWE match in a decade.

WWE Unreal premiered in 2025 with five episodes, showing the backstage side of the Road to WrestleMania 41, including creative decisions involving names such as Cody Rhodes, John Cena, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, and Charlotte Flair.

The second season, released in January 2026, focused on the road to SummerSlam 2025 and featured Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Naomi, Chelsea Green, Penta, and other names.
