Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have yet to reveal what comes next after leaving WWE, but Big E does not believe his former New Day partners are done with pro wrestling.
The two departed the company in May after the two sides mutually agreed to part ways. They were later moved to the Alumni section on WWE’s website, confirming the end of their runs with the company.
Appearing on Kayla Becker Live, Big E said Woods and Kingston are doing well, but are choosing to stay out of the spotlight for now.
“They’re doing well. I want, in due time – I know they’re kind of staying low and enjoying family time right now – I want them to be able to tell their story. But obviously we’ve had a lot of discussions lately about what’s next.
“I don’t expect those guys to be retiring. I think they still have a lot more to show.”
“I think we had a really impactful heel turn and the follow up wasn’t exactly how we envisioned it. But I think those guys have so much to offer, they’re so, so talented. I think they’re going to go out there, wherever they end up wrestling, with a big chip on their shoulders and something to prove. I’m excited for them.
“Those guys will always be my brothers. I think the bond that we built, for me, in many ways, was so much bigger than wrestling.”
“Those guys are family. Those guys are always gonna be a part of my life, we’re always going to find ways to stay in touch, to get together.”
“So yeah, I’m excited for what’s next for them.”
As of now, there is no confirmation on where Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will wrestle again, if it happens at all.
