Add as a preferred source on Google Blake Monroe finally made her presence felt on WWE SmackDown, attacking Giulia on the Friday, June 26 episode from The O2 Arena in London, England.
The attack came right after Giulia defeated Kiana James. In the closing stretch, the Japanese star hit the Arrivederci and followed up with the Northern Lights Bomb to win the match.
After the bell, Monroe appeared and attacked Giulia from behind, making it clear who her first target will be on the blue brand.
This was not exactly Monroe’s first appearance on the show. In May, she briefly appeared in a backstage segment with Chelsea Green, in a spot that lasted only a few seconds.
Monroe arrives on SmackDown after a strong run in NXT, where she captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Her last major match on the developmental brand came against Tatum Paxley in a Casket Match for the same title at NXT Revenge.
The attack also stands out because of their shared history. Before WWE, Monroe, then wrestling as Mariah May, and Giulia both worked in Stardom. In August 2023, Giulia defeated May during the English star’s run with the Japanese promotion.
