Braun Strowman took another shot at Roman Reigns on Saturday, claiming he helped launch the “Tribal Chief” — the character that turned Reigns into one of the most dominant names in recent WWE history.
Posting on X amid ongoing discussion about Reigns’ legacy, Strowman wrote:
“Since it’s seems to be the hot topic in wrestling right now. Remember there is no Tribal Chief without me!!!!”
The jab goes back to WWE Payback on August 30, 2020. A week earlier at SummerSlam, Reigns had returned after months away and attacked both Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, who had just won the Universal Championship. At Payback, all three competed for the title in a No Holds Barred Triple Threat Match.
Reigns didn’t enter the match until the closing stretch, then pinned Strowman to capture the Universal Championship — the start of a 1,316-day reign that became the foundation of his “Head of the Table” era.
Strowman tagged the post “#ImagineIfIDidntWannaDoTheJob,” a nod to taking the pin for Reigns that night.
This isn’t the first time Strowman has talked up his Reigns rivalry. In a May interview with Rewind Recap Relive, he said their feud from 2017 to 2020 could stack up against any other in pro wrestling history.
