WWE “Announces” Future World Heavyweight Championship Challenger for Roman Reigns

LA Knight remains laser-focused on earning a World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns, even after being left out of the tournament that kicked off on this week’s Monday Night RAW in Norfolk, Virginia.

Backstage, Knight confronted General Manager Adam Pearce, making no secret of his frustration over being excluded from the field. The Megastar went as far as saying he’d put on a mask if that’s what it took to enter the lucha-exclusive tournament.

Pearce urged patience. The GM assured Knight that once the tournament concludes, he’ll find a path for him to compete for the #1 contendership to the world title. A shot at Reigns remains firmly on the table, but Knight will still need to earn it.

Moments later, Knight crossed paths with Jacob Fatu, a current member of The Bloodline. The Samoan Werewolf took issue with Knight repeatedly name-dropping Reigns and his family, warning him of what would happen if he kept it up.

Knight fired back by taunting Fatu over needing Reigns’ permission before laying a hand on him, ratcheting up the tension even further. Fatu made it clear he’s more than willing to come after the Megastar again.

The two already have recent history. On 7/20, Fatu defeated Knight on RAW with the Mighty Moonsault, on a night that ended with The Bloodline laying out Knight, Royce Keys, and Solo Sikoa.

The World Heavyweight Championship tournament got underway tonight with Penta advancing over Laredo Kid. The winner will ultimately challenge Reigns on the 9/14 edition of RAW at Arena CDMX, marking the first Monday Night RAW held in Mexico City in 15 years.

Roman Reigns is set to return to RAW next week, while Knight and Fatu continue on a collision course toward another showdown.
