Add as a preferred source on Google Bron Breakker said he looked up to Roman Reigns long before the two became rivals on WWE programming.
Breakker made the comments on the Season 3 premiere of WWE: Unreal, which debuted Tuesday on Netflix. The new season consists of five episodes running approximately 50 minutes each.
“I looked up to Roman for a very long time. Roman has a very similar path that I have. Both played a small stint in the NFL, transitioned to wrestling. We’re both second generation superstars. So that was extremely important to me.”
The comparison Breakker drew centers on football. Reigns started on Georgia Tech’s defensive line and earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2006. He went undrafted in 2007 and signed with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars before his football career ended in the CFL.
Breakker played fullback and running back at Kennesaw State, rushing for 909 yards and seven touchdowns in his final college season. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in May 2020 but was released before the regular season roster was set. By February 2021, he was under a developmental contract with WWE.
Despite the admiration, WWE has placed them on opposite sides. Reigns and Jey Uso defeated Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam on August 2, 2025. Weeks later, Breakker and Reed attacked Reigns after his match against Reed at Clash in Paris. They met again in the WarGames Match at Survivor Series later that year.
