Jalen Brunson plays a decisive role in the closing segment of Saturday Night’s Main Event tonight at Madison Square Garden, stepping in to stop Seth Rollins from hitting Roman Reigns with the Stomp onto a steel chair.
Reigns walks to the ring alongside the New York Knicks captain and says New York is WWE‘s home, adding that big names recognize other big names.
The current World Heavyweight Champion then talks about the Knicks’ NBA championship and presents Brunson with a custom title belt in the team’s colors. The point guard led the franchise to its first title since 1973 and was named Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points in the series.
The celebration, however, is interrupted by Seth Rollins’ entrance music. Tyrese Haliburton shows up with a chair, distracting Reigns and allowing the Visionary to attack the champion from behind.

Rollins sets the chair up in the middle of the ring and goes for the Stomp, but Brunson steps in front of Reigns. The OTC seizes the opening, lands a Superman Punch and follows up with a Spear. Rollins leaves the ring as Haliburton helps him get away.
The show goes off the air with Reigns and Brunson celebrating in the ring, surrounded by the title belts and the NBA championship trophy.
Brunson and Haliburton had already crossed paths on the June 28, 2024, episode of SmackDown, when they were both involved in the rivalry between LA Knight and Logan Paul.
