Chelsea Green has once again addressed the controversy involving WWE producer Michael Hayes following the comments he made on the second season of Netflix’s WWE UnReal.

At the time, Hayes said Green was very entertaining, but that her role was not to occupy the same space as names like Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Instead, he said, her job was to help elevate those wrestlers.

During a recent appearance on The Early Bird Special, Green explained that she understands why some fans see her as an underdog, though she finds the label interesting.

“People have had this amazing, like, they started and then they’ve just got everything they’ve ever wanted in like three years, and I’m jealous of that. But, like, the fans know my story. They relate to my story. And so they got on board with it. They’re always calling me an underdog, which I think is so funny because I feel so far removed from that title, but I understand why they call me that.”

When Hayes was brought up, Green jokingly called the comments “blasphemy,” but made it clear that the situation ended up giving her fuel to keep proving her value in WWE.

Back in March, Green had already revealed that Hayes apologized for the comments and that the two spoke about the situation.

Around the same time, The Undertaker also came to Green’s defense, saying she is underrated and could reach a bigger role in WWE.
