Chelsea Green Gives Update on WWE SmackDown Injury

Chelsea Green confirmed Saturday that she suffered a fractured orbital bone during Friday’s SmackDown, just days after capturing the Interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline first reported that Green left the SmackDown taping injured after a tag match where she teamed with Tiffany Stratton against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. The nature of the injury was unknown at that point.

Hours later, Green took to Instagram to confirm the fracture and express her frustration:

“It feels frustrating. I’m upset. I feel like if I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. I just need to take a little bit more time to process.”

The injury comes just six days after Green won the Interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, going over Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton in a Ladder Match. Rhea Ripley remains sidelined following knee surgery.

There is no timetable for Green’s return at this time. We’ll update as more details become available.
