Chris Jericho opened up about his current mindset in AEW, making it clear that his main concern is not winning or losing, but telling good stories.
In an interview with Ringer Wrestling, Jericho discussed his feud with Ricochet, which began after his return to AEW programming in early April. Since then, Ricochet has had the upper hand, including wins over Jericho in direct matchups.
“No, it’s amazing and that’s kind of the idea, you know, that’s why I still love wrestling and still you know, feel that I that I’m doing it on a high level because it’s it’s great to go in there with Ricochet. We’d never crossed paths before.”
“My goal is always to build my opponent. Always. And I think if you look and you really know the business, you can see that with everybody that I’ve been in the ring with.”
“Once in a while it doesn’t work the way you want it to, but once again not by lack of effort. My mindset is always set in what can we do to make this the best possible show. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I don’t care. I care about making the best story possible.”
The feud between Jericho and Ricochet will continue at Double or Nothing, where they will be on opposite sides of a Stadium Stampede match.
