Darby Allin took another shot at MJF ahead of AEW Double or Nothing, promising to expose his rival by targeting the one thing he believes hits MJF’s ego the hardest.
The current AEW World Champion will defend the title this Sunday, May 24, against MJF at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The match will carry a Title vs. Hair stipulation.
During a recent interview with The Sportster, Allin made it clear what he plans to do if he retains the championship.
“No, he’s gonna say what he’s gonna say. But the thing is, that’s what’s so beautiful about the match on Sunday, is he’s gonna say what he’s gonna say, and I’m gonna tell him right now, I’m shaving his head, cause people are like, well, why the hair? Why the hair? I’m like, we’re talking about a man who flew all the way to Turkey to save what’s left of that hair. You know, so that’s like the one thing he holds dearest because he’s willing to go so much lengths to keep it. So if you just take it from him, that’s going to chip away at everything that he represents, you know, and the ego that he’s (got).”
If Allin loses, MJF will capture the AEW World Championship for the third time. If MJF is defeated, he will be forced to shave his head.
Double or Nothing will air at 8 p.m. ET on HBO Max, where the pay-per-view costs $39.99 for subscribers. On Prime Video, the event is listed at $49.99.
