CM Punk is expected to return to WWE television soon after being away from programming since the weeks following WrestleMania 42.

According to PWInsider, WWE is already working on Punk’s return to TV and is also preparing new official merchandise for his appearances throughout the summer. The site also reported that those appearances are already planned, though specific dates have not been revealed.

The update also comes amid recent rumors about possible backstage frustration from Punk. However, according to the same report, there are currently no issues between Punk and WWE.

Punk has been off programming since the period after WrestleMania 42, where he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the main event of Night Two. His last appearance came on the April 20 episode of Monday Night RAW, shortly after the Showcase of the Immortals.

Previous reports had already indicated that Punk’s absence was not tied to punishment, injury, or any internal issue, but rather to creative adjustments and changes in WWE’s plans, especially after shifts involving Gunther, Jacob Fatu, and Roman Reigns.

With that, the expectation is that the “Best in the World” will once again have an important role on WWE programming in the coming months, especially as the company builds toward its major summer events.

For now, however, WWE has not officially announced when Punk will make his return to TV.
