Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi Advertised for Major Title Match After WWE SmackDown

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, will feature a major World Tag Team Championship match that will not be part of the television broadcast.

According to the arena, Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi will challenge reigning champions Bron Breakker and Austin Theory of The Vision, who will have Maxxine Dupri in their corner. The match is advertised to take place after SmackDown goes off the air.

Rhodes and Femi have teamed up against Breakker and Theory before. The four met in a dark match for the titles after the August 14 SmackDown in Boston.

Rhodes and Femi won that match by disqualification after Dupri delivered a low blow to Rhodes in front of the referee. As a result, The Vision retained the titles.

Tonight’s match also comes as tensions run high between Femi and The Vision. On Monday’s Raw, Femi returned to television and stopped Breakker, Theory, Bronson Reed and Logan Paul from continuing their attack on Je’Von Evans. He closed the segment standing tall over the group.

Rhodes, on the other hand, remains locked in his feud with Randy Orton. He said on last week’s SmackDown that he has no intention of repeating the decision he made at Sunday Night’s Main Event, where he hesitated against Orton and went on to lose.

Aside from the dark match, three matches have been confirmed for tonight’s broadcast, including Finn Bálor vs. CM Punk vs. Gunther in a qualifier for the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The show begins at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network.
