Cody Rhodes, the current Undisputed WWE Champion, commented on how much longer he plans to continue wrestling for WWE.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Rhodes said he does not picture himself wrestling 10 years from now, especially at WWE’s current pace. The American Nightmare also indicated that, by then, WWE will likely have another top face of the company.

“You said 10 years? I don’t think in 10 years… I do think it takes a toll at a certain point, and I don’t think in 10 years I’ll still be going. I think there will be another QB1 of WWE at that point.”

Rhodes, who will turn 41 next week, made it clear that he feels like he is in the best physical shape of his career, but he does not believe he will still be competing “bell-to-bell” for that long.

“As far as in-ring competition, I’ll be done. I’m turning 41 in a week, and I feel the best I’ve ever felt, but I do think that in 10 years I won’t be wrestling bell-to-bell, no.”

When asked about a possible new WWE contract, Cody suggested that a five-year deal would make sense for this final stage of his in-ring career.

“I think five years would… you know, five years sounds good. If I were to sign a new contract, maybe it would be for five years.”

For now, Cody remains at the center of WWE programming. At Night of Champions this Saturday, he is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther and Sami Zayn in a Triple Threat Match.
