Cody Rhodes does not seem too worried about the possibility of losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Gunther at WWE Clash in Italy.

During an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Rhodes addressed Gunther being backed by Paul Heyman, something that could make him a bigger threat to his title reign.

“The super genius Mr. Heyman I will never disparage, but I will say it again: he builds them and I beat them. So I’m not really worried about it.”

Rhodes and Gunther will face off on Sunday, May 31, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, with the event streaming in the United States on the ESPN App. WWE is treating the match as one of the top attractions for its first Premium Live Event in Italy.

The rivalry picked up after Gunther attacked Rhodes on the May 1 episode of SmackDown. He then called in a favor owed to him by Paul Heyman, opening the door for the title contract to be created.

Last week on SmackDown, Rhodes defeated Sami Zayn but was attacked by Gunther immediately afterward. “The Ring General” then held up the Undisputed WWE Championship to drive home the threat ahead of the event.

Even so, Rhodes continues to point to his recent track record. In his view, Heyman may be able to build major threats, but the end result is usually the same.
