Dani Luna Makes AEW Debut in Title Match at All Out

Dani Luna made her official AEW in-ring debut at All Out on Saturday, stepping straight into a TBS Championship match at NOW Arena in Chicago.

Luna was revealed as the surprise opponent for Persephone, who had issued an open challenge after defeating Hyan on the most recent Dynamite and Collision. Persephone had made it clear that Hyan, Thunder Rosa and Maya World could not answer it.

Luna received a title shot in her first AEW appearance, but Persephone won the match and retained the title. The win was Persephone’s third successful defense of a reign that began at All In London on August 30, when she defeated Maya World.

The debut confirmed a Fightful Select report from Friday. According to the outlet, Luna had already signed with AEW and was expected to make her first appearance soon.

Luna left TNA in March after requesting her release. During her run there, she and Jody Threat formed the tag team Spitfire and won the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship twice. She also spent time in WWE’s NXT UK before returning to the independent circuit.
