Persephone is expected to face an opponent making her AEW debut at Saturday’s All Out in Chicago. According to the Wrestling Observer, Dani Luna is currently expected to answer the open challenge for the TBS Championship.
The match was announced on the latest episode of Collision after Persephone defeated Hyan to retain the title. Persephone made it clear that Maya World, Thunder Rosa and Hyan herself will not be allowed to answer the challenge.
Fightful Select reported on September 15 that Luna was expected to end up in AEW, if she had not already signed a deal. Luna left TNA in March after a run in which she won the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship twice alongside Jody Threat. Earlier in her career, she was part of the now-defunct NXT UK brand.
Kairi Sane had been one of the leading names in speculation about who would answer the challenge, but she is not expected to be the one. According to Fightful Select, Sane is not yet legally cleared to compete while she sorts out her contract situation.
Mara Sadè is another name that has gained traction in recent days. Fightful Select reported that Sadè, formerly known as Jakara Jackson, has signed with AEW. Tony Khan, however, stopped short of publicly confirming her arrival, saying only that she is someone to keep an eye on.
Persephone won the TBS Championship by defeating Maya World at All In: London on August 30.
