Kyle Fletcher caused some concern during this week’s AEW Collision taping, which was held Wednesday night in San Diego, California. The episode is scheduled to air this Thursday, July 2, in a special timeslot due to the July 4 holiday in the United States.
The scare happened during Fletcher’s match against ELP, which closed out the taping. According to fan reports from those in attendance, both men accidentally fell from the top rope at one point in the match, leading some in the crowd to believe Fletcher may have been injured. Even so, Fletcher went on to win the match.
However, the situation does not appear to be serious. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter shared a positive update shortly after the taping.
“Although multiple fans reported tonight that Kyle Fletcher appeared to have been injured doing his match on Collision, we’ve been told he appears to be fine. It was likely just dehydration.“

Concern around Fletcher was heightened because of his recent injury history. Fletcher missed about two months in 2026 after suffering a meniscus injury on the March 28 episode of AEW Collision, when he teamed with Mark Davis against The Rascalz. Due to the injury, he had to vacate the TNT Championship and did not return until Double or Nothing on May 24.
Fletcher is currently in an important spot in AEW. In addition to his match against ELP, he appeared on Collision to speak about Konosuke Takeshita, with whom he has an ongoing rivalry involving the Don Callis Family. Fletcher is scheduled to face Takeshita for the AEW International Championship on the next episode of Dynamite.
The expectation, then, is that the Australian wrestler will remain on AEW’s plans as scheduled and will not need another absence.
