AEW has reportedly finalized the match order for Forbidden Door, the pay-per-view set for this Sunday at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

According to Fightful Select, the internal belief is that Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland will close the show in the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final.

“The internal belief is that Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay is planned as the main event.”

If that ends up being the case, AEW will close the pay-per-view with the men’s tournament final rather than the Steel Cage Match between Team Briscoe and Team MJF, or one of the title matches previously expected to headline the card.

The winner of Ospreay vs. Swerve will earn a shot at the AEW World Championship at All In: London, which is scheduled for August 30 at Wembley Stadium.

This will mark the second time Ospreay and Swerve have faced each other at Forbidden Door. In 2024, Swerve defeated Ospreay to retain the AEW World Championship. Last year, the two met again at Summer Blockbuster in a match that ended in a time-limit draw.

AEW has not officially announced the Forbidden Door match order.

Forbidden Door will also feature Mercedes Moné vs. Maya World in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final, Thekla defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Starlight Kid, Jon Moxley defending the AEW Continental Championship against Bandido, and Kenny Omega facing Zack Sabre Jr.
