Eric Bauza, a voice actor who worked on WWE animated films and was known for voicing Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at 46.
His family announced his death on Sunday.
In an Instagram post, the family said he died suddenly. The statement also highlighted his voice work and said more details would follow.
“Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly,” the family said. “More details to come.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause of death. The record released by authorities also showed that Bauza died at his home and listed the manner of death as natural.
Bauza’s ties to WWE came through three animated films. In 2015, he worked on The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age SmackDown!, a WWE Studios production made in partnership with Warner Bros. He voiced Dino, Bamm-Bamm Rubble, and Hoppy.
John Cena played John Cenastone in the film, and CM Punk voiced CM Punkrock.
Bauza worked with WWE again in 2016 on Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon, in which he voiced Big Earl. The cast also included Cody Rhodes as Stardust, along with Dusty Rhodes and Goldust.
His third WWE film, The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!, came out in 2017. He voiced Rolf Rodriguez in the film, which also featured Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and The Usos.
More recently, Bauza again worked alongside Cena in Coyote vs. Acme, which was released in theaters in August. He voiced several Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and Cena appeared as Buddy Crane, a lawyer for Acme.
