TNA has denied “blocking” Leon Slater’s match from airing on MyAEW, according to an exclusive statement obtained by Wrestling Noticias.
The bout took place this past Saturday, August 29, at RevPro’s 14 Year Anniversary Show inside OVO Arena Wembley in London. Leon Slater defeated Liam Slater in a match that had been officially announced by RevPro.
The show was available through both RevPro On Demand and MyAEW, but viewers who purchased the pay-per-view through AEW’s platform never saw the match air.
Per Wrestling Noticias’ reporting, the MyAEW feed cut to an extended break filled with promotional videos after FTR vs. Cowboy Way. When the broadcast returned for the Revolution Gauntlet Match, commentary referenced Leon Slater vs. Liam Slater as a bout that had already taken place.
The discrepancy between the two feeds led fans to accuse TNA of blocking the match from airing on MyAEW.
Asked directly by Wrestling Noticias journalist Patricki Chites, TNA Vice President of Communications and Public Relations Ross Forman denied any involvement by the company:
“TNA Wrestling was not involved with that event or match, including fans seeing said match or not seeing it.”
Notably, Forman’s statement did not attribute the decision to AEW, RevPro, or any other party. The allegation that TNA was responsible for its omission remains unproven and is being categorically denied by the Nashville-based company.
