Leon Slater just landed the biggest match of his career.
Shortly before TNA Lockdown wrapped up this Sunday in Chicago, the young wrestler confirmed he will challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory.
Hours before the announcement, Slater had recaptured the TNA X-Division Championship by defeating Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing Steel Cage Match.
In the main event, Nic and Ryan Nemeth defeated Matt and Jeff Hardy to capture the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Nic hit the Danger Zone on Matt to pick up the win, closing out Lockdown as both TNA World Champion and one half of the tag team champions.
During the Nemeths’ post-match celebration, Slater came out and officially invoked Option C, surrendering the X-Division Championship in exchange for a world title shot. He handed the belt to TNA president Carlos Silva and declared his intention to become the youngest world champion in company history.
The title match is set for November 10 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, marking the first time Bound for Glory will be held in the city.
