Bruce Prichard will reportedly need to change his work routine for medical reasons.
Prichard has continued working in his backstage role with WWE despite the health issues he has been dealing with.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Prichard needs to undergo very serious neck surgery, which is expected to keep him off the road. According to the report, the plan is for Prichard to keep working from home, with a much smaller in-person role.
Even with his physical issues, Prichard reportedly ran WWE’s TV shows over the last few weeks. He filled in for Triple H, who was on vacation.
Fightful also reported that an internal memo about Prichard’s status circulated within WWE early this year. The contents of the memo weren’t disclosed.
Fightful’s report comes a day after Mike Johnson of PWInsider revealed that Prichard is expected to step down as Executive Director of Creative Writing & Talent after WrestleMania 43 in 2027. As previously reported, Prichard is expected to remain with WWE as a consultant.
Conrad Thompson had already revealed on the October 13 episode of 83 Weeks that Prichard was rehabbing a neck injury. The injury dates back to 1991, when Prichard was playing Brother Love and Ultimate Warrior attacked him during a WWF taping.
Earlier this year, Prichard also dealt with back problems that temporarily kept him away from his duties on WWE’s creative team. He returned to work over the summer.
