John Morrison, who currently competes in AEW as Johnny TV, drew an interesting comparison between Tony Khan and Vince McMahon, two men he has worked for over his long career in pro wrestling.
Speaking recently with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Morrison mainly praised the AEW president’s dedication. He said Khan’s financial means would have allowed him to pursue just about any career, but that Khan chose instead to devote much of his life to wrestling.
“He’s at all the tapings, and I sometimes think he’s a lot like Vince except with a good heart, if you know what I mean.”
Morrison also compared the freedom McMahon once enjoyed in WWE with Triple H’s current position. McMahon answered to practically no one when it came to pursuing big ideas or approving spending, Morrison said, while Triple H works within the corporate structure of TKO Group Holdings.
The comparison stands out even more because Khan and McMahon have, in a sense, been on opposite sides in recent years. In 2023, a company linked to Khan took part in the WWE sale process before Endeavor won out and formed TKO.
Morrison is enjoying a strong run outside AEW as well. This week, wrestling under the name Johnny Bollywood, he became the inaugural PWR World Heavyweight Champion at the Kranti event in New Delhi, India.
