WWE taped this week’s Friday Night SmackDown on Monday night (August 24, 2026) immediately following RAW at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The episode is set to air Friday, August 28, at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network.
According to those in attendance, the standout storyline of the night involved CM Punk, Kevin Owens, GUNTHER, Finn Bálor, and Sami Zayn.

- Kevin Owens opened the show with a promo. CM Punk interrupted, and Nick Aldis, GUNTHER, and Finn Bálor also came out, leading to the announcement of a Triple Threat Match between Owens, GUNTHER, and Bálor.
- The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) defeated Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton. Green’s injury played a major role in the match, with medical staff checking on her throughout.
- GUNTHER interrupted a backstage meeting between Nick Aldis and Danhausen.
- Jacy Jayne defeated Paige. After the match, Nikki Bella appeared and attacked Paige.
- Randy Orton interrupted an interview Cody Rhodes was giving.
- Baron Corbin interrupted the Trick Williams and Lil Yachty segment.
- Tatum Paxley defeated Michin. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss got involved, helping Paxley.
- Ricky Saints interrupted Rey Fenix.
- Blake Monroe was giving a backstage interview when Giulia attacked her.
- Damian Priest and R-Truth had a segment with the War Raiders.
- The Miz and Kit Wilson vs. Kyoki and Shinsuke Nakamura was announced for next week’s SmackDown.
- Kevin Owens vs. GUNTHER vs. Finn Bálor ended in a disqualification after Sami Zayn interfered.
- CM Punk came out following the interference, but Sami Zayn closed the show by attacking everyone with the Undisputed WWE Title.
