Gunther and Danhausen will face each other again on the Oct. 30 WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The information was released on Friday by Corey Brennan of Fightful and marks a new encounter between the two after last week’s clash ended without a winner.

WWE will hold the show at the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia. The SmackDown broadcast airs on USA Network, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The first match between Gunther and Danhausen took place on Oct. 9, when Finn Bálor interfered to prevent Gunther from continuing to attack Danhausen. The match ended in a no contest, and Bálor also ended up being attacked.

The problems between Gunther and Danhausen, however, started before that. In August, WWE showed an encounter between the two backstage. The following month, Danhausen tried to use his famous curse, but Gunther prevented that from happening.

Gunther had already shown his contempt for Danhausen’s curses during an interview on the Complex Graps Wrestling Podcast in July, even before the confrontations in WWE.

“See, that stuff only works if you believe in it, and I don’t believe it.”

The new match also takes place amid questions behind the scenes at WWE about the creative plans for Gunther. WrestleVotes Radio revealed this week that some members of the creative team showed dissatisfaction and doubts about the way he has been used on SmackDown.

Despite these discussions, WWE will proceed with the rivalry against Danhausen, while Finn Bálor continues to be directly involved in the storyline.

The clash will take place on the last October edition of SmackDown, just one week before Crown Jewel, the premium live event scheduled for Nov. 7 in Saudi Arabia.
