Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn had a major face-to-face confrontation to open Monday’s WWE RAW at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, ahead of their match at Crown Jewel.

Zayn went to the ring to talk about his run as Undisputed WWE Champion but was interrupted by Reigns. Although the reunion began on friendly terms, including a hug, the mood quickly changed when the two began talking about their respective titles.

Reigns questioned whether Zayn was still there to serve The Bloodline or whether he was now acting in his own interests. Sami replied that he considers the group his family, but made it clear that he currently has his own home, SmackDown.

Reigns, however, took a more forceful tone when he said that the World Heavyweight Championship is currently WWE’s top title, even going so far as to downplay the importance of the Undisputed WWE Championship. Zayn responded and reminded him that it took him 20 years to finally win the title and that he demanded respect.

Reigns ended the confrontation by saying that he knows exactly who Zayn is and warned that there is a strong possibility Sami will not even make it to Crown Jewel as champion.

Zayn’s current title reign began in September, when he regained the Undisputed WWE Championship from CM Punk. Reigns, on the other hand, is coming off a successful defense of the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank.

To top it off, Penta appeared with the Money in the Bank briefcase as soon as Reigns left the ring. The Mexican stared down Roman on the ramp and then did the same with Zayn, leaving the threat of a possible cash-in hanging in the air.

Reigns and Zayn will face each other at Crown Jewel on Nov. 7 in a match for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
