The return of Perros del Mal to AAA programming, now under the company’s joint management with WWE, did not happen without an important backstage approval.

According to False Finish, AAA and WWE received the blessing of Perro Aguayo Jr.’s family to use the Perros del Mal name on their programming.

The legendary stable returned on the latest episode of AAA on FOX, which took place in Mérida, Mexico. In the final segment of the show, El Grande Americano came to the ring to celebrate his recent victory and ended up challenging Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship.

At that moment, Karmen Petrovic appeared as a distraction, opening the door for Daga, Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo, and Bronco Nima to attack El Grande Americano from behind. The group then revealed jackets bearing the Perros del Mal name, officially confirming the new version of the stable.

The use of the name stands out because of its history. Los Perros del Mal were created by Perro Aguayo Jr. in CMLL in 2004 before also becoming an independent promotion and later invading AAA in 2010.

Over the years, names such as Daga, Héctor Garza, Penta, and Taya Valkyrie were part of the group, which became one of the most popular rudo stables in Mexican lucha libre.

It should be remembered that Perro Aguayo Jr. died in March 2015 at the age of 35 after suffering a severe cervical injury during a match in Tijuana. Since then, any use of the Perros del Mal name has carried much greater symbolic weight.
