AAA may have revealed the name of the former WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio promised for the coming weeks earlier than planned. The name in question is Damian Priest, who reportedly appeared during tapings held after the live broadcast of Saturday’s show, June 20, in Mérida, Mexico.
According to fan posts from those in attendance at Foro GNP Seguros, Priest took part in a segment that did not air live and appeared in the ring with a microphone in hand. As of now, full spoilers from the taping have not been released.
The situation stands out because, during the AAA episode, Rey Mysterio had teased the arrival of a major name to the company.
Rey said the following about the matter:
“We are very close to bringing a former WWE World Champion who has never wrestled here in AAA.”

Priest fits that description directly. The “Archer of Infamy” is a former World Heavyweight Champion, won the men’s Money in the Bank match in 2023, and is currently one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions alongside R-Truth.
The Mérida show also featured other major developments. Rey Fenix retained the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Laredo Kid and Lince Dorado, while El Grande Americano returned after his Mask vs. Mask Match and was attacked by the new version of Perros del Mal, made up of Bronco Nima, Karmen Petrovic, Angel, Daga, and Berto.
