Jack Perry could have returned to AEW with a very different presentation in 2024.

According to Fightful Select, Alice In Chains’ “Them Bones” was strongly considered as Perry’s entrance theme for his return to the company. The idea was part of the plans at one point, but it was ultimately not used.

Perry himself had previously revealed during an interview with the Battleground Podcast that AEW had discussed using the song when he began his heel run. According to Perry, the plan was dropped shortly before an appearance, and the company ended up going with Beethoven instead.

“Them Bones” is one of the best-known tracks from Dirt, the 1992 album by Alice In Chains, and it would have fit directly with the darker presentation Perry adopted during his “Scapegoat” phase.

Perry returned to AEW at Dynasty 2024, interfering in the Ladder Match between FTR and The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. On that night, he helped Matthew and Nicholas Jackson win the titles.

A few days later on Dynamite, Perry was reinstated by Tony Khan, but then attacked the AEW President, officially beginning his alliance with The Elite.

Before that, Perry had been in NJPW, where he developed the “Scapegoat” persona and joined House of Torture.

In the end, the Alice In Chains song was never used. Still, the information shows that AEW considered a much heavier presentation to mark Perry’s definitive shift after the end of his “Jungle Boy” phase.
