Kris Statlander found a rather unusual way to preserve one of the most violent moments of her AEW career.
In a recent interview with the Daily Star, the former AEW Women’s World Champion revealed that she had the scars from the women’s Blood & Guts match in November 2025 tattooed in red after she landed on a bed of nails.
“My scars that I got from taking the bed of nails at Blood & Guts, I got those scars tattooed on my back in red so they always look fresh. Everytime I go to the medical room to get my back worked on or something, they see my [tattoo], they always think it’s a fresh cut and they’re like, ‘I can’t work on your back.’ Then they’re like, ‘Oh, wait, no, it’s a tattoo.’”
The spot happened when Marina Shafir pulled Statlander out of the cage and revealed the bed of nails hidden near ringside. After the two traded shots, Shafir hit Statlander with a kick to the chest, sending her down onto the nails.
The match was the first women’s Blood & Guts match in AEW history. Statlander teamed with Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, and Mina Shirakawa against Mercedes Moné, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue.
In the end, Moné’s team picked up the win after Toni Storm surrendered to stop Mina Shirakawa from taking more punishment.
