Add as a preferred source on Google Jeff Hardy brought back his Willow persona on Thursday’s TNA iMPACT!, during the latest chapter of the feud between The Hardys and The Righteous.
The return happened during the match between “Broken” Matt Hardy and Vincent at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California, airing on AMC. Jeff Hardy and Dutch were handcuffed to the ring posts during the bout.
In the closing stretch, Vincent knocked down the referee and grabbed the key to the handcuffs. The lights then went out, and when they came back on, Willow appeared inside the ring and attacked Vincent.
After the interference, Matt Hardy hit the Twist of Fate and scored the pinfall over Vincent, further raising the supernatural tone of the storyline between the two teams.
The character had already appeared in a segment months earlier, but Hardy’s last match as Willow on an episode of IMPACT Wrestling took place in 2014.
The rivalry between The Hardys and The Righteous has been building for several weeks, with Vincent and Dutch trying to awaken darker versions of Matt and Jeff Hardy. Willow’s return indicates that TNA should continue exploring that side of the story in the coming weeks.
