Add as a preferred source on Google WWE Unreal Season 3, the docuseries produced by WWE in partnership with Netflix, is set to premiere on July 21, and one of its central storylines will be John Cena’s retirement tour throughout 2025.
Cena promoted the new season on his official X account, saying he’s eager to see the footage of what he considers one of the most memorable stretches of his career:
“So many unforgettable memories in my final year of performance ‘in the arena.’ Looking forward to seeing what #WWEUnreal captured and their perspective of one of the greatest years of my life.”
According to Netflix, the five episodes — each running around 50 minutes — will follow the final stretch of Cena’s farewell run, which came to a close with his loss to Gunther in December 2025 at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE Unreal takes viewers inside the company’s writers’ room, showing the last-minute decisions, injuries, and creative changes overseen by Triple H and his team. The first season premiered in July 2025, while the second centered mainly on Seth Rollins’ fake injury.
Besides Cena, the new season is expected to feature Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, CM Punk, AJ Lee, Trick Williams, Bron Breakker, Chelsea Green, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
Cena officially retired in December 2025, immediately after the loss to Gunther, closing out a run that spanned the entire year.
