Jon Moxley will defend the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis at WrestleDream. AEW made the match official on Tuesday’s Grand Slam France edition of Dynamite in Paris.
Davis got the title shot after he and Jake Doyle defeated Moxley and Gabe Kidd in a tag team match. In the closing moments, Davis hit Kidd with a gutwrench piledriver for the win, and the commentary team confirmed the title match shortly afterward.
The feud between the two factions had already picked up steam on the most recent episode of Collision. On that show, Moxley defeated Doyle in a Continental Championship Eliminator match, and Davis beat Adam Priest in singles action.
Moxley won the Continental Championship at Worlds End 2025, beating Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic final. The win also ended Okada’s 647-day title reign.
At All In: London in August, Moxley also defeated Nigel McGuinness in the inaugural AEW Continental Challenge Cup final and walked out of Wembley Stadium with the trophy.
WrestleDream is set for October 17 at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
