Kayla Becker, known to wrestling fans as Kayla Braxton, revealed that she stayed in frequent contact with Paul Heyman after leaving WWE.

The former interviewer left the company in June 2024 after nearly eight years as a host, ring announcer, and one of the main backstage voices on Friday Night SmackDown. Her farewell took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

During a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Becker was asked about her relationship with Heyman, with whom she shared several memorable segments during The Bloodline storyline.

“He used to reach out a lot, just saying hi when he was in town, we did some autograph signings… Maybe after this I’ll text him and see how he’s doing. But he was really good about checking in after I left.”

The pairing between Kayla and Heyman became one of the most memorable parts of her WWE run. Along with their backstage segments on SmackDown, the two also shared the screen on Talking Smack, where their chemistry drew attention from fans.

When she announced her departure, Becker publicly highlighted how important Heyman had been to her career, saying their back-and-forth had become “legendary” and that she had learned a lot from the Wiseman.

Although she left WWE on her own terms, Kayla previously explained that her exit was amicable. At the time, she said she felt she had done everything she could in the company and wanted to pursue new opportunities away from wrestling’s demanding schedule.

Since then, Becker has been trying to build a new professional chapter outside WWE, including acting projects and sports-related work.
